This film itself is different in Third Cinema tradition. Mani Kaul promote the new language of film to approach the discourse of resistance through the traces of ancient India which were preserved by clay craftsmanship. He explored the pure local identity that was not shaped by colonialism. Tells the story of how a lump of clay come into a cultural trace. The scenes at the beginning of this film invite us to a small village of pottery producer when the sun began to appear. The appearance of a man cycling impresses us as if the story is nowadays. And then the montage between the present and the carving clay signify the existence of the tradition of clay handicraft which had existed for decades of the last century. From that village, later on, some of the clay story was told by Mani Kaul began.
