Sejarah Dalam Resiproksitas Subjek\u00a0dan Objek<\/h1>\n

Identitas, apapun itu jenisnya, baik individu maupun kelompok, merupakan susunan akumulatif dari peristiwa-peristiwa yang saling menyilang di dalam ruang dan waktu. Peristiwa itu tidak pernah selesai sehingga kita selalu ada \u2014apa yang dinamakan saat sekarang adalah kondisi di dalam masa transisi secara terus menerus. Eksistensi kita\u00a0 ditandai dengan naluri untuk bertahan dan tetap hidup di dalam ruang pergesekan antara masa lampau dan kemungkinan-kemungkinan masa depan. Kemampuan manusia untuk bertahan dan menyusun narasi yang definitif mengenai identitasnya tersebut mengandaikan suatu negosiasi yang melibatkan kemampuan intelektual dan intuisi akan kondisi ideal yang ingin diciptakan.<\/p>\n

Negosiasi ini menempuh banyak cara dan kondisi. Prosesnya bisa disepakati atau bisa menyebabkan konflik intersubjektif. Identitas tidak pernah homogen, Ia melibatkan penerjemahan berulang-ulang yang sangat subjektif dan disesuaikan dengan kepentingan untuk bertahan, yang pada dasarnya, sangatlah politis. Ada yang harus dipertahankan atau harus dieliminasi dalam proses untuk mencapai apa yang dikatakan kondisi kebertahanan. Pada hal ini, negosiasi jelas mengakui keterlibatan hubungan sejarah antara subjek dan objek.<\/p>\n

Sejarah selalu merupakan proyek yang melibatkan interpretasi subjek dan secara langsung membentuk objeknya. Karena itu, sejarah berperan penting dalam resiproksitas antara subjek dan objek. Sejarah selalu menjadi lahan perebutan kekuasaan. Menguasai sejarah dapat diartikan menguasai kondisi-kondisi yang akan tercipta di masa yang akan datang. Pada titik itu, untuk melawan hegemoni kuasa narasi tertentu, proses negoisasi terhadap sejarah mutlak diperlukan. Bentuknya bukan negasi, tetapi negosiasi, karena di dalam sejarah itu sendiri tersusun narasi yang kompleks. Peleburan suatu sejarah tidak mungkin dilakukan, karena sifatnya selalu dialektis.<\/p>\n

Upaya-upaya negosisasi atas sejarah ini telah dilakukan oleh berbagai macam bidang studi yang menghasilkan ide-ide besar dalam sejarah kehidupan manusia. Filsafat cukup berperan penting dalam hal ini. Abstraksi pemikiran-pemikiran tersebut termanifestasi dalam bentuk sinema, literatur, seni rupa, musik, dan banyak lain. Sinema merupakan salah satu yang paling revolusioner dalam proses negosiasi ini. Mediumnya memungkinkan manusia untuk menerjemahkan kembali teks-teks yang sudah tercipta dalam konteks kuasa tertentu. Sinema dengan lentur mengubah struktur yang sudah terbentuk.<\/p>\n

Lima filem yang masuk ke dalam program ini cukup eksperimentatif dan representatif dalam menjelaskan proses negoisasi terhadap kesejarahan yang berangkat melalui teropong individu maupun kelompok. Eksperimentasi yang dilakukan mampu meninggalkan kondisi yang kaku terhadap pembacaan teks-teks sejarah pada umumnya. Artefak-artefak fisik sejarah, seperti filem, foto, bangunan arsitektur, maupun yang metafisik seperti ingatan, identitas, ideologi tertentu, digunakan dan disusun dengan estetika tertentu sehingga mampu membongkar kembali posisi artefak sejarah itu sendiri. Apakah posisinya berada di dalam konstruksi masa lalu yang terdefinisikan ulang, atau bahkan sama sekali baru dengan memasukkannya ke dalam konstruk naratif yang puitik dan mengarah ke dalam pembacaan ulang sejarah secara radikal.<\/p>\n

Eksperimentasi dalam sinema selalu bersifat dialektis. Sama seperti manusia, eksperimentasi juga berada di titik transisi yang terus menerus. Eksperimentasi selalu dibutuhkan dan diharuskan dalam konteks kebertahanan. Setidaknya, untuk menciptakan secara terus-menerus ruang-ruang yang membebaskan individunya. Eksperimentasi membawa kita selalu dalam pergesekan ruang mengenai \u2018membentuk\u2019 dan \u2018dibentuk\u2019 karena pada dasarnya manusia menghindar dari objektifikasi yang dilakukan oleh subjek lain. History in the Reciprocity of Subject-Object<\/span><\/h1>\n

Identity of any kind, either individual as well as collective, is an accumulation of events that crisscrosses across space and time. These events are never finished, and so we always exist\u00a0 \u2014what is called by the present is a condition, which is always in a continuous transition, which always continually shifts. Our existence is always marked by an instinct to survive, a will to live in the space of friction, a space of collision between the past and possibilities of the future. The ability of human beings to survive and construct their identity narrative assumes a negotiation, which involves intellectual and intuitive capability to imagine an ideal condition. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This negotiation takes a variety of ways and conditions. Its processes may be based on consensus or on the contrary, based on and may cause inter-subjective conflicts. Identity has never been homogenous. It involves repeated translations, which can be very subjective and dependent on the condition and imperative to survive, which is in essence, highly political. Some have to be maintained or eliminated in the process to achieve what might be called as a survival condition. In this case, negotiations obviously admit the historical relations between a subject and object.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

History has always been a project that involves a subject\u2019s interpretation by which an object is shaped. For that reason, history plays an important role in the reciprocity between a subject and its object. History has always been a site of power struggle. To take control of history means to take control of the condition of possibility of the future. At this point, to counter the hegemony of certain narrative, a process of negotiation of historical narrative is absolutely needed. It is not necessarily in the form of negation but it can be a negotiation because history has a complex narrative structure. The fusion of certain history is not possible to conduct, for its dialectic nature.<\/span><\/p>\n

Attempts to negotiate history have been done by various fields of study, which in the history of mankind, result in many grand ideas. Philosophy has played a significant role here. An abstraction of those thoughts has manifested in the form of cinema, literature, fine arts, music, and many more. Cinema is one of the most revolutionary. This medium has allowed human beings to reinterpret texts that are created in certain context of power. Indeed, cinema has flexibly changed the already-built structure.<\/span><\/p>\n

The five films in this program are representative in explaining processes of negotiation of history both individually and collectively. In addition, these five films take an experimental approach which allows them to overcome conventional and rigid methods in reading historical texts. The physical artifacts of history such as films, photos, architecture, or the more immaterial ones such as memory, identity, and certain ideology are being used and arranged with certain aesthetics so that it enables us to deconstruct the position of the historical artifact itself. Whether the position is in the construction of the redefined past, or even a brand new one in the arrangement of a sort of poetic narrative construct that leads to a radical rereading of history.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Experimentation in cinema is always dialectical. Likewise with the human, experimentation is also in the position of constant transitions. Experimentation is always needed and a must in the context of survival, at least, to create sustained space that liberates an individual. Experimentation always leads us to a space of friction, in a space of \u201cshaping\u201d and \u201cbeing shaped\u201d because essentially human beings always strive to avoid any form of objectification. avoiding objectification which conducted by other subject.
