Catatan Pembukaan Pameran Kultursinema #5: Gelora Purnaraga<\/h2>\n

Jika kita bicara mengenai perhelatan akbar olahraga, mungkin saja, satu hal yang akan terlintas di pikiran kita adalah kata \u201ckompetisi\u201d. Negara A bertanding dengan negara B. negara Indonesia bertanding sepakbola dengan negara Malaysia. Siapa pemenangnya seolah-olah menjadi kunci esensi perhelatan olahraga itu diselenggarakan. Namun, ada perspektif lain yang diperlihatkan oleh Pameran Kultursinema #5 bertajuk Gelora Purnaraga<\/em> terkait gagasan dan esensi dari sebuah kompetisi olahraga.<\/p>\n

Pameran Kultursinema #5: Gelora Purnaraga<\/em> yang diselenggarakan di Galeri Cipta III, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta Pusat ini merupakan bagian dari rangkaian ARKIPEL \u2013 Jakarta International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival yang keenam yang bertajuk \u201chomoludens\u201d \u2013 yang memiliki arti \u201cmanusia yang bermain dan bergerak\u201d. Seirama dengan tema yang dipilih oleh ARKIPEL homoludens, <\/em>Pameran Kultursinema Gelora Purnaraga <\/em>ini mengambil tema olahraga dengan membidik suatu momen perhelatan akbar olahraga di era Orde Lama, yakni Games of the New Emerging Forces<\/em> (Ganefo) atau Pesta Olahraga Negara-Negara Berkembang yang diadakan pada tahun 1963. Pada pembukaannya di hari Rabu, 8 Agustus 2018, tema menarik dari pameran ini mampu menyedot pengunjung hingga sebanyak 53 orang, dengan beberapa awak media yang juga turut hadir meliput, sejak pukul 19.30 \u2013 21.00 WIB.<\/p>\n

Mengapa Ganefo yang menjadi benang merah dari tema yang dipilih di Pameran Kultursinema #5: Gelora Purnaraga<\/em> ini? Kurator Mahardika Yudha secara terbuka menyampaikan pesan bahwa dalam perhelatan Ganefo, ada kultur yang diciptakan dan persaudaraan yang dibangun, dalam balutan acara olahraga; lewat tendangan bola atau hentakan bola voli antar dua tim di lapangan. Dalam Ganefo pula, Mahardika dan tim melihat adanya usaha dari Indonesia untuk menyediakan \u2018saluran dan ruang\u2019 untuk menghubungkan, menjembatani, dan menyatukan gagasan-gagasan bersama dari negara-negara yang baru atau belum merdeka, sedang berkembang dan menata negaranya, atau negara-negara yang menginginkan persahabatan dan perdamaian dunia tanpa penghisapan antara manusia oleh manusia di seluruh dunia di dalam bidang kebudayaan. Hal itu tampak dari para peserta yang turut berpartisipasi di dalam Ganefo, yakni 51 negara-negara berkembang di Asia, Afrika, Eropa, dan Amerika Latin, yang berusaha untuk tetap menunjukkan eksistensi di tengah situasi Perang Dingin antar negara-negara maju di Barat kala itu.<\/p>\n

Tidak berhenti sampai di sana, Mahardika dan tim juga turut melacak jejak-jejak filem tentang Ganefo di Arsip Nasional RI. Filem-filem hitam putih ini dapat pengunjung saksikan di dalam pameran, yang menunjukkan kemeriahan perhelatan akbar olahraga Ganefo ini. Dalam penataan instalasi seninya, Mahardika menjelaskan bahwa ada tiga bagian besar. Di bagian depan, Mahardika dan tim menyuguhkan pengantar mengenai geopolitik dari Ganefo itu sendiri, dengan membuat lukisan-lukisan yang ditempel di dinding dengan ilustrasi cabang olahraga. Pengunjung juga akan menemukan logo-logo Ganefo yang dilukis di sebentang kain-kain panjang berwarna-warni, yang dipasang menggatung di langit-langit menjuntai hingga lantai.<\/p>\n

Di bagian kedua, pengunjung akan mendapati ruang kosong, dengan tubuh yang disorot oleh warna-warni cahaya yang menggambarkan kemeriahan pagelaran olaraga. Dari sorotan yang akan menghasilkan bayang-bayang tubuh pengunjung, Mahardika menyebut saat itu pengalaman performativitas dapat dirasakan, dalam indahnya kemeriahan kultur dan kesetiakawanan yang tercipta ketika acara olahraga berlangsung, dalam hal ini ialah Ganefo. Pada bagian akhir yang berada di lantai dua, pengunjung akan menemukan tiga kotak music yang telah ditelanjangi, yang ketika diputar akan menghasilkan notasi tiga lagu krusial Ganefo, yakni lagu Ganefo, Viva Ganefo<\/em>, dan Hymne Ganefo<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Melalui Pameran Kultursinema #5: Gelora Purnaraga<\/em>, <\/em>Mahardika dan tim Kultursinema mencoba melihat kembali kejadian Ganefo di tahun 1963 dalam bingkaian permainan olahraga dan ide tubuh yang sempurna. Tubuh ini terartikulasikan melalui dua bagian;\u00a0tubuh-tubuh sosial<\/em>\u00a0dan\u00a0gestur-gestur ragawi<\/em>. Tubuh-tubuh sosial <\/em>mengacu dari interaksi sosial yang terjadi di dalam dan luar lapangan permainan dan kompetisi, sedang\u00a0gestur-gestur ragawi<\/em>\u00a0mengacu pada gestur-gestur jasmaniah olahragawan yang terjadi di dalam lapangan permainan dan kompetisi. Gestur jasmani itu pada akhirnya tidak selamanya soal menang atau kalah, namun adalah sebuah capaian jalinan relasi yang berhasil dibentuk, serta gejala-gejala sosial dan kultural selama sebelum, saat, dan sesudah perhelatan olahraga itu terjadi.<\/p>\n

Notes on the Opening of Kultursinema Exhibition #5: Passion of The Perfect Body<\/span><\/h2>\n

If we talk about a grand sports event, possibly one of the things that come to our mind is the word \u201ccompetition\u201d. Country A versus Country B. For instance in football, Indonesia team versus Malaysia team. As if becoming the winner is the whole purpose of the event. But, the Kultursinema Exhibition #5 titled Passion of the Perfect Body<\/em> tries to offer another perspective on the notion and essence of a sports event.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Kultursinema Exhibition #5: Passion of the Perfect Body<\/em> which was held at the Galeri Cipta III, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta is a part of the sixth ARKIPEL Jakarta International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival, titled homoludens<\/em>, meaning \u201ca playing and moving human\u201d. Corresponding to the chosen theme, Kultursinema Exhibition #5: Passion<\/em> of<\/em> the<\/em> Perfect<\/em> Body<\/em> explores the idea of sports, focusing on a grand sports event during the Old Order; the Games of the New Emerging Forces (Ganefo) held on 1963. At its Opening Night on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, the enticing theme catches the attention of 53 visitors along with a couple of media reporters who attended the event from 07.30 \u2013 09.00 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why was the Kultursinema Exhibition #5: Passion of the Perfect Body<\/em> highlighted the Ganefo in its theme? Mahardika Yudha, the curator, openly stated the fact that behind Ganefo\u2019s event, a culture was created and a bond was built within those sports events; through the football kicks and volleyball smashes between two teams on the field. Through Ganefo, Mahardika and the team observes an attempt from Indonesia to provide a channel and space to connect, bridge, and unite the collective ideas from new or yet-to-be independent countries, countries that are still putting their elements together, or countries that yearned for friendship and world peace without manipulation among humans in the field of culture. The spirit was reflected by the participants of Ganefo composed by 51 developing countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America that expressing their existence in the middle of the Cold War among developed countries in the West at that time, to bind their friendships and to survive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Mahardika and the team also tracks the cinematic traces of Ganefo in the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia. Visitors can watch these black-and-white films in the exhibition showing the festivity of that grand sports event. In arranging its art installations, Mahardika divides the exhibition presentation into three parts. In the front, Mahardika and team served an introduction about the geopolitics of Ganefo, through the paintings of sports branches on the wall. Visitors will also find Ganefo logos painted on colourful, long fabrics hung from the ceilings dangling to the floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the second part, visitors will find themselves inside an empty room where colourful lights are projected on their bodies, depicting the festivity of the sports event. Those lights and the shadows of visitors are a very performative experience, as stated by Mahardika, that once was also occurred during the cultural festivity and the friendship in the event of Ganefo. At the end of the exhibition on the second floor, visitors will find three music boxes that have been stripped away from its boxes. When the visitors play those instruments, they will produce the melody of three essential theme songs of Ganefo: Ganefo, Viva Ganefo<\/em>, and Hymne Ganefo.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Through Kultursinema Exhibition #5: Passion of The Perfect Body,<\/em> Mahardika and the team try to re-examine the 1963 Ganefo through the frame of a game of sports and the idea of the perfect body. This body is articulated through two parts; social bodies<\/em> and physical gestures<\/em>. Social bodies <\/em>refer to the social interaction that happens inside and outside of the sports field and competition, while physical gestures<\/em> refer to the sports players\u2019 gestures performed both in the field and the competition. In the end, the physical gestures are not always about winning or losing, but it is an achievement of the formed relations, also the social and cultural phenomenon before, during, and after that event occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n
