Dokumenter Kreatif dan Figurasi Ruang<\/h3>\n

Dalam beberapa dokumenter yang diprakarsainya, Forum Lenteng kerap berusaha keluar dari pakem dokumenter dengan subjek manusia yang bulat, atau dengan struktur yang menekankan pada naik-turun alur drama.\u00a0 Dua yang menjadi konsentrasi program ini adalah Dongeng Rangkas<\/i> dan Naga Yang Berjalan Di Atas Air<\/i>, dokumenter yang dibuat atas kerjasama antara Forum Lenteng dengan komunitas setempat, dengan Saijah Forum dalam Dongeng Rangkas<\/i>, dengan Komunitas Djuanda dalam Naga Yang Berjalan Di Atas Air<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Dongeng Rangkas<\/i> memotret terik-gigil kehidupan di kota kecil Rangkasbitung, 120 km dari Jakarta. Selain bingkai konseptualnya sebagai penyedot partisipasi masyarakat dalam permediaan, Dongeng Rangkas<\/i> juga menyertakan komponen praktikalnya, sebagai pemotret ruang pinggiran setelah 10 tahun Suharto lengser; detik yang diyakini sebagai penanda perubahan di segala lini. Hal yang sama terjadi dalam Naga Yang Berjalan Di Atas Air<\/i>, dimana yang menjadi konsentrasi adalah kelenteng sebagai ruang temu sosial. Koh Liong yang diwawancarai berfungsi sebagai semacam personifikasi kelenteng yang telah menjadi tuan rumah bisu bagi tak terhitung sudah pengunjung. Yang menarik, terlontar pula pertanyaan mengenai\u00a0 peristiwa 98, sesuatu yang juga menjadi penting dalam Dongeng Rangkas<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Dua hal penting yang diangkat oleh kedua dokumenter ini adalah keterpinggiran. Dongeng Rangkas<\/i> mengangkat kota-kota pinggiran dan seberapa ia dipengaruhi, atau tidak dipengaruhi, oleh kejadian-kejadian revolusioner yang terjadi di pusat. Sementara Naga Yang Berjalan Di Atas Air<\/i> mengaduk keterpinggiran itu ke sebuah ruang yang lebih sempit dan spesifik: kelenteng yang menampung narasi tentang pasangan pinggiran: Koh Liong dan Istrinya; tentang etnis pinggiran: etnis Tionghoa yang alih-alih digambarkan sebagai etnis kalem yang rajin berdagang, malah digambarkan sebagai etnis yang sama saja dengan etnis manapun di nusantara ini sepanjang ia ditempatkan dalam ruang sosialnya masing-masing.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”true” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]\n

Creative Documentary and Spatial Figuration<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

In documentary films they initiated, Forum Lenteng always did experimentation on narrative possibility with human as a given subject, or with a structure which emphasized on the up and down dramatic flow. Two films in this program is Rangkasbitung: A Piece of Tale<\/i> and The Dragon Who Walks on the Water<\/i>. Both were made in collaboration between Forum Lenteng and the local community. Rangkasbitus: A Piece of Tale with Saidjah Forum, while The Dragon Who Walks on the Water<\/i> was with Komunitas Djuanda.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rangkasbitung: A Piece of Tale <\/i>is a protrait of struggling lives in a small town, Rangkasbitung, located 120 km out of Jakarta. Besides its conceptual frame to atract local community in media literacy participation, Rangkasbitung: A Piece of Tale<\/i> also includes its practical component as a \u2018photographer\u2019 of suburban space after Suharto\u2019s resignation 10 years ago; a moment which is believed to be the mark of change in all aspect. The same thing happens in The Dragon Who Walks on the Water<\/i>, where it\u2019s concentrating on a temple which becomes a social meeting space. The interlocutor is Koh Liong whom serves as a sort of personification of the temple which has been the silent witness and has hosted countless visitors. Interestingly, there is a question about the 1998 tragedy being asked, something that also important in Rangkas Fables.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two important points raised by both documentaries are about marginalization. Rangkasbitung: A Piece of Tale<\/i> exposes the life in suburban towns and how it is affected or not affected, by revolutionary events that occurred in the capital city. Kota yang menjadi terkenal oleh buku Multatuli itu, sepertinya begitu lambat tumbuh, di antara hingar-bingar pembangunan paska Reformasi.<\/p>\n

Kiwong dan Iron adalah dua pemuda sederhana yang memilih hidup sebagai Pedagang Tahu, sementara mimpi-mimpinya tetap dipegang teguh. Kiwong bermimpi menjadi pemuda yang lebih baik, yang menjadikan keluarga hidup lebih baik dari sebelumnya. Sedangkan Iron, percaya musik adalah anugrah dari Tuhan, dan ia ingin terus mengembangkan fantasi musiknya di jalur \u2018underground\u2019.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text disable_pattern=”false” align=”left” margin_bottom=”0″]Rangkasbitung: A Piece of Tale <\/i>is a piece of story which has been taken from two young men from Rangkasbitung \u2013 it\u2019s a small town which has a distance 120 kilometer\u2019s from the capital city of Jakarata. Kiwong and Iron have a profession as a tofu sellers. Kiwong sells tofu in the economy train of Rangkasbitung to Jakarta while Iron sells the fresh tofu in the traditional Rangkasbitung market.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those character are portraits of young generation from post Reformation\u00a0 in 1998 where Indonesia was a country which had been reigned by military regime before, and turn to be a large democration country in the world. That transformation of the social politic had been impacted to Kiwong and Iron. Kiwong was a young man who graduated from Muslim school and a crackerjack who lived in the street in Jakarta. He still believes to the tradition of Banten\u2019s \u201cwhiz\u201d, it\u2019s a magic power and physical which he has believed in overcoming his problems. Meanwhile, Kiwong has chose a profesion as a tofu seller in the train that thought it\u2019s better for him. As the time goes by, Kang Sui Liong is also an eyewitness of the glory of the Chinese Benteng community in that area who live across the Cisadane River.
