Tahun ini, ARKIPEL homoludens – International Documentary & Experimental Film Festival 2018 dengan bangga mengabarkan empat juri yang akan berperan dalam menentukan dan memutuskan penghargaan terhadap empat filem terpilih. Kami mengundang empat kolega yang kredibilitas dan kontribusinya telah diakui di bidang perfileman dan wacana seni saat ini.

This year, the ARKIPEL homoludens – International Documentary & Experimental Film Festival 2018 proudly announces our four festival juries who will decide the award of the four best films. We invite four colleagues whose credibility and contributions have been internationally recognized in the field of cinematography and art discourse today.

Our Festival Juries

Ronny Agustinus

RONNY AGUSTINUS merupakan salah satu pendiri Ruangrupa. Sejak 2005 hingga sekarang mengelola penerbit Marjin Kiri. Ia juga merupakan kurator sesi Amerika Latin untuk ARKIPEL; Jakarta International Documentary & Experimental Film Festival 2014-2016, juri ARKIPEL 2014-2015, juri dokumenter panjang Festival Film Dokumenter 2015 dan 2017 (Yogyakarta), dan juri Psychology Film Festival 2016 (Surabaya).

RONNY AGUSTINUS is one of the founders of Ruangrupa. He has been developing his independent publisher, Marjin Kiri, since 2005. He curated the Latin America session in ARKIPEL; Jakarta International Documentary & Experimental Film Festival 2014-2016. He was Jury at ARKIPEL 2014-2015, at the feature documentary of Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD) 2015 and 2017 (Yogyakarta), and at Psychology Film Festival 2016 (Surabaya).

Hafiz Rancajale

HAFIZ RANCAJALE (Pekanbaru, 1971) adalah seniman, pembuat filem, kurator, dan salah satu pendiri Forum Lenteng. Menamatkan pendidikan Seni Murni di Institut Kesenian Jakarta (IKJ), dan kini menjadi Ketua Forum Lenteng dan juga Direktur Artistik ARKIPEL. Agustus tahun 2018, ia akan menjadi kurator Pekan Seni Media 2018 yang diadakan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan bekerja sama dengan Forum Lenteng.

HAFIZ RANCAJALE (Pekanbaru, 1971) is an artist, filmmaker, curator, and co-founder of Forum Lenteng. He graduated from the Art Institute of Jakarta (IKJ), and is now the Chairman of Forum Lenteng and the ARKIPEL Artistic Director. In August 2018, he will be the curator of Pekan Seni Media 2018 organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture in cooperation with Forum Lenteng.

Azar Mahmoudian

AZAR MAHMOUDIAN merupakan kurator dan pendidik yang berbasis di Tehran. Ia pernah menjadi programer pada penayangan di SOAS, London; HFK, Bremen; Blackwood Gallery, Universitas Toronto and mengkurasi bersama di antaranya 11th Monitor Festival, SAVAC. Ia merupakan anggota dewan juri pada Images Festival (2015, Toronto) dan juga bagian dari tim kuratorial Biennal Gwanju 11th (2016). Ia kini tengah mengerjakan seri kedelapan dari sebuah rangkaian pemutaran filem, Sensible Grounds and Tectonics of Camaraderie, sebagai bagian daria proyek 4Cs yang didanai oleh Uni Eropa (2918-2020, di berbagai lokasi).

AZAR MAHMOUDIAN an independent curator and educator based in Tehran. She has programmed screenings at SOAS, London; HFK, Bremen; Blackwood Gallery, Toronto University, and co-curated 11th Monitor Festival, SAVAC, among others. She was a jury member at Images Festival, Toronto (2015) and was part of the curatorial team of the 11th Gwangju Biennial (2016). She is currently working on an eight-chaptered film program, “Sensible Grounds and Tectonics of Camaraderie,” as part of the 4Cs Project (multiple venues, 2018-2020).

Dave Lumenta

DAVE LUMENTA (1971, Amsterdam) merupakan seorang antropolog /musisi. Ia mengajar Antropologi Globalisasi, Etnografi Asia Tenggara dan Antropologi Kesenian pada Departemen Antropologi FISIP UI. Ia terlibat dalam sebuah eksperimentasi musik kolaboratif bersama para pengungsi Oromo dari Ethiopia yang antara lain menghasilkan supervisi atas dokumenter Performing Out of Limbo (2018, karya Betharia Nurhadist dan Indrawan Prasetyo) dan beberapa pementasan di Jakarta. Ia juga tertarik pada fotografi, terlibat dengan sejumlah grup musik dan pernah menggarap scoring musik untuk sejumlah filem.

DAVE LUMENTA (1971, Amsterdam) is an anthropologist/musician. He teaches Anthropology of Globalization, Southeast Asia Ethnographies and the Anthropology of Art at Universitas Indonesia. He was involved in a musical experimentation collaboration with Oromo refugees from Ethiopia in Indonesia, which recently produced a documentary he supervised, Performing Out of Limbo (2018, Betharia Nurhadist and Indrawan Prasetyo) and numerous performances around Jakarta. He is also interested in photography, involved with several music groups and covered music scoring for numerous films.
