Tibanya Bapak Sinema Filipina di ARKIPEL
Kidlat Tahimik, pembuat filem yang dijuluki “Bapak Sinema Filipina” dan salah satu fokus program kuratorial ARKIPEL homoludens – 6th Jakarta International Experimental and Documenter Film Festival, telah tiba di bandara Soekarno-Hatta hari ini (12/08) pukul 11.15. Kidlat adalah salah satu tokoh sinema Asia Tenggara yang unggul, dan namanya telah diakui di ranah sinema dunia.
Tim berita menjumpai Kidlat di GoetheHaus, Goethe-Institut Indonesien, Jakarta, sekitar pukul 15.30. Yuki Aditya, Direktur Festival ARKIPEL, menyambutnya dan memperkenalkannya kepada beberapa anggota Forum Lenteng yang kebetulan berada di area terbuka GoetheHaus. Bersama Yuki dan Otty Widasari, Kidlat asyik berbincang mengenai sinema di Indonesia dan Filipina. Ia juga menyinggung Gotot Prakosa, salah satu pembuat filem eksperimental Indonesia yang pernah dimentorinya, yang meninggal dunia di tahun 2015. Setelah bercakap-cakap, ia bangkit untuk mengikuti program Kompetisi Internasional 01, The Fly Misery of Quame Nyantakyi: Kesesatan dari Kegembiraan dan Kebahagiaan yang Mendalam.
Program kuratorial Focus on Kidlat Tahimik akan ditayangkan di Kineforum dalam tiga sesi: Selasa (14/08) pukul 13.00, 16.00, dan Rabu (15/08) pukul 19.30, dikurasi oleh Merv Espina.

The Arrival of “The Father of The Philippines Cinema” in ARKIPEL
Kidlat Tahimik, a filmmaker often dubbed as “the Father of Philippines Cinema” and the focus of one of ARKIPEL homoludens – 6th Jakarta International Experimental and Documenter Film Festival curatorial program, has arrived at Soekarno-Hatta airport today (08/12) at 11.15 AM. He is one of the most prominent Southeast Asian filmmaker who is renowned in the worldwide cinema scene.
ARKIPEL news team met him at the GoetheHaus, Goethe-Institut Indonesien, Jakarta, around 03.30 PM. Yuki Aditya, the Festival Director of ARKIPEL, welcomed and introduced him to few of the Forum Lenteng members that happened to be around the GoetheHaus open area. He talked about Indonesian and Philippines cinema with Yuki and Otty Widasari. In the conversation, he mentioned Gotot Prakosa, one of Indonesia’s experimental filmmakers who was also his mentee, who passed away on 2015. After a while, he excused himself to watch the International Competition 1, The Fly Misery of Quame Nyantakyi: The Misguided of Intense Excitement and Happiness.
Focus on Kidlat Tahimik curatorial program will be screened at Kineforum in three sessions: Tuesday (08/14) on 01.00 PM, 04.00 PM, and Wednesday (08/15) on 07.30 PM, curated by Merv Espina.
