Happiness…Promised Land, berkisah tentang sang sutradara sendiri, Laurent Hasse, yang secara spontan melakukan perjalanan di Prancis dari Selatan ke Utara. Dokumenter ini menyibak respon beberapa orang yang dijumpai secara spontan.
Perjalanan berakhir pada perjalanan di KM 1.500, di sebuah tempat bernama Dunkerque. Dalam proses perjalanan sang sutradara yang menghabiskan waktu 90 hari lebih. Dokumenter ini sama sekali tidak memperlihatkan wajah ‘nyata’ dirinya sendiri, hanya bayangan dan suaranya. Dokumenter perjalanan ini, secara keseluruhan menceritakan tentang bagaimana orang-orang mengkisahkan dirinya, profesinya, dan lingkungannya. Semacam merenungkan tentang kehidupan melalui keseharian mereka, dan semua berlangsung dengan spontan.

Happiness…Promised Land, tells about the film director himself, Laurent Hasse, who traveled from Southern France up to the Northern. This documentary is asking the response of some people whom he encountered spontaneously.
His journey ends at 1.500th KM (Kilo Meters), in a place called Dunkerque. spent more than 90 days. The documentary is never showing the ‘real’ face of the filmmaker, but only his shadows and his voice. Overall it tells about how people create their own story, about their profession, and the environment they live in. Sort of a reflection of the daily life through the people he met, in anywhere or anyplace spontaneously.
