The word of experimental in the realm of cinema presupposes the needs and motivation to each ‘players’ involved in the game of the cinema language (visual) to constantly seek for ‘new language’. This motivation is certainly necessary to meet the actual needs of cinema, which is to form diversity of language within the framework criticism beyond the generally accepted language in the popular idiom, as also establishing an important dialogue between what we perceive visually along with what became the ideas or narration in a documentary film. With such dynamic game of language, hereby documentary, who has a narrative tradition (idea) capable for updating itself in the social, political, and cultural context. Therefore, Documentary and Experimental should no longer be distinguished, especially in its contemporary context or known in the term of “New Golden Age of Documentary”. This concretion, should be realized and manifested by all players in the universe of cinema, either filmmakers, festival organizers, film critics, curators, programmers, and even the film audience.
