Today’s development of cinema cannot be separated from the important role of communities who keep the circulation rolling, particularly in the expansion of cinema knowledge. In their practices, the community seen as important for improving the cinema knowledge, starting from the main basic activities of film, such as definitions, limitations, the theories, enhancement of technical and practical knowledge, as well to criticism. The position of community, in this case, no less to just confer the act of production, distribution, and screening, but can be seen in the context of socio-political and cultural as well as how community’s position in this case is being apart from the dominant culture, which is the film industry. Ideally, in film practice, we should always have a load of cinema knowledge, such as the distribution of knowledge through curatorial program that not only to scrutinize the aesthetics, but also the socio-political context that influenced the cinema language.
